sofia 24 May, 2019

If you are a golf player, then you must have experienced back pain a couple of times. This is not uncommon with golfers. Well, the reason for this pain is because the game is beginning to tell on your body. One is sure though, you have to do something to get rid of the pain. Back pain can affect your performance, and you may not be able to play again because of it.

We will guide you in this article on what you need to do to get rid of back pain as a golfer so you can be able to get back to playing your favourite game.

What’s Causing the Pain?

Golf involves a lot of physical activity, and you may be wondering if it”s the cause of the pain. You may think that by bending down to pick the balls up and throwing your hands far back for a good swing, is the reason for the nagging pain you’re feeling. The truth is, these actions keep you fit, and are not the cause of the pain you feel. Golf is a way to exercise your body and stay fit. It is also known to relieve stress.

So what is causing the pain in your back? Pain can be as a result of an underlying issue. For instance, if you are not flexible or strong enough, and you try to make a swing, you may hurt your back in the process. The pain could be from muscle issues, gaining weight and even a weak lower back.

You are likely to get tight muscles if you do not exercise regularly or even do stretches. Most times, the muscles around the front and back of your legs get tight, causing pressure on your spine. This is one of the common causes of back pain.

Fortunately, there is a fix for this problem. You can save yourself from experiencing back pain by doing a simple stretching exercise. With a good work out routine and regular stretching exercises, it will make your back feel much better. There are many types of stretch exercises which are recommended for golfers. However, it is essential that you know which one works best for you. If you do a workout routine that fits your present needs, you will get a more effective result, rather than just doing random exercises.

Also, if you notice you are gaining a lot of weight, it would help to cut down on it. Treating the real cause of the back pain, such as weight gain or muscle imbalance, will help you recover quickly from it. Also, if you feel sore all over your body, you can easily get pain relief creams sold over the counter.

It is best not to ignore any pain you feel, so it does not lead to more significant health problems. Whenever you begin to notice pain, pay close attention to every detail of your health.
